Borax As Your Eco-Friendly Cleaning Product

If you happen to find a box of borax in your house and don’t know what to do with it we have a list for you. Borax is a natural chemical and has a wide range of uses in your house. If you are willing to try borax just be sure to avoid any contact with eyes, skin and do not ingest it.

Boost your laundry: Borax softens hard water, neutralises musty odor, removes soap residue. Plus, it inhibits fungal growth. Add a cup of borax to your wash load and experience it all for yourself.

Clean your garbage disposal: You should clean your garbage disposal regularly if you don’t want to smell that bad odor. To keep the disposal clean or to get rid of the bad odor sprinkle three tablespoons of borax onto it. Let the borax sit for an hour then rinse it off with warm water.

Remove crayon marks from walls: Worst nightmare of every parent! When your toddler feels inspired and uses your walls as a canvas try this solution: mix 2 tablespoons of borax, 3 cups of warm water, 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle. Then add 6 drops grapefruit essential oil and 1 teaspoon liquid castile soup, shake again. Spray it on the marked walls, wipe with a damp cloth or a sponge if needed.

Make your mirror shine again: To avoid water stains on your mirror, mix 3 cups of hot water and 2 tablespoons of borax. Dip a cloth into the solution and wipe down mirrors, windows and glass doors in the house.

Deodorise your fridge: Forgotten or spilled food and drinks cause bad odor in the fridge. When you experience such things empty your fridge, prepare a solution with 1 tablespoon borax and a quart of lukewarm water. Wipe your fridge inside out with a damp cloth that has been dipped in the solution.

Clean your toilet bowl: It only takes a few minutes to clean the toilet bowl with borax. Sprinkle a cup of borax and scrub with your toilet brush. It will remove any stubborn stains in a blink.

Remove rust: Instead of using toxic products to remove rust you can make a paste using borax and lemon. Apply the paste to the rust, leave it for more than half an hour. Use a brush to scrub the paste, it should lift the rust off. Rinse and dry the object thoroughly before putting it back.

Paste that you are going to make with borax will take the rust away.
