Clay Deodorant Bar
If you are into DIY or aware of the danger caused by store-bought deodorants that we use everyday, sometimes more than once, maybe you have heard about homemade deodorants. But usually they consist of baking soda and coconut oil which some of you might find irritating or affects your allergies. This recipe is free of those.
You will need 2 tbsp bentonite clay powder, 1/2 cup arrowroot powder, 2/3 cup bees wax, 1/2 cup cocoa or shea butter, 1/3 cup jojoba oil, 5-10 drops of essential oils.
The trick is to never use metal utensils because this deodorant has a detox effect and it absorbs all the toxins coming out of your body. If it gets in contact with metal it will absorb less toxin.
Mix bees wax, jojoba oil and shea butter in a glass bowl and heat over boiling water (bain marie). Stir well until all the ingredients melt. Mix arrowroot powder and clay in a separate glass bowl. Pour the other mixture into this bowl and stir until there are no lumps. Add essential oil and stir again. Pour the deodorant mixture into molds, let them sit until they are no longer liquid. Place them into fridge for 2-3 hours and remove bars the molds. Store your deodorant bars in the fridge in a container.
You can use your bars like a deodorant stick and place back to fridge. If you like this non-toxic deodorant you can make for your loved ones and give them for special days as gifts.
Store-bought lip balms usually have acid, refined vegetable oil and they are medicated. Take good care of your lips with this easy homemade balm.
The ingredients are 2 tbsp mango butter or cocoa butter, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 2 tbsp beeswax, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract.
Start with grating the beeswax into a mason jar. Then add the coconut oil. Prepare a double boiler system, put a pot filled with enough water, submerge bottom of jar in water. Heat water on medium-low to melt the ingredients, stir occasionally. Monitor the jar so the water doesn’t boil over the rim into the blend. Once all melt down, take it from the oven and add vanilla extract, and stir to combine. Now you can pour the mixture into lip balm containers.
This recipe will give you 10-15 lip balms.
Mother nature is very kind to us, she provides everything we need to take care of ourselves. With just 3 ingredients you can make yourself a body lotion better than store-bought one.
For this wonderful body lotion you need 1/3 cup coconut oil, 1/3 cup pure shea butter, 10 drops of essential oil.
Place shea butter into the microwave for 30 seconds to soften. Your coconut oil should be in room temperature. Mix it with shea butter for 15 minutes. You can use your hands but it will be tiring, instead you can use stand mixer. The mixture should be light and fluffy. Now you can add your favourite essential oil.
