What are you going to do if your favourite lipstick leaves marks on your favourite t-shirt? What if your one and only pair of jeans get stained by grass? No need to worries. Every stain has a solution. We gathered four of them for you so you can match your whitest t-shirt, jeans, the redest lipstick and roll over in grass with a slice of pizza. 😉
Lipstick: The moment you realise that your lips touched the soft fabric.. The fear and desperation.. We all have been there! To swipe all the worries away we tested known ways to get rid of the lipstick stain; hairspray, dish soap, bleach and home made bleach. We have to say all of them did a decent job on removing the stain but dish soap is the winner! The best way to deal with the stain is to treat it asap. If you are out and if there is hairspray around by chance, spritz with it. Spray will neutralise the stain. Treat it with dish soap when you come home and toss in the machine.
Grass: Little piece of green can cause a lot of problems. There are a few ways to remove the grass stains. You can try dish soap, vinegar or a paste made of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Although it should be used very carefully since hydrogen peroxide can discolor if you leave it on the cloth for too long, this paste mix is the best way to deal the stain. If you choose to use this mix keep an eye on your clothing. We left our pair of jeans for 10 minutes and then washed it. But to be on the safe side check it regularly. If you see the stain is still there do not toss it in dryer machine. Retreat the stain.
Denim: When you buy a new pair of jeans it’s a better idea to not use it with anything white including the furniture. Try to avoid wet weather, sweat and also moisture as these will cause your jean leave stains everywhere you sit, wear or touch. If you detect any sort of stain caused by denim get saddle soap as quickly as possible. Rub with the soap until the stain has come off or at least faded. Use warm water as it will prevent the indigo from settling.
Grease: Don’t ruin your favourite meal just because your outfit gets stained. Like we said there is always a solution. You can always try sprinkle salt on the stain. It will dry the grease stain while you are having your meal. But when you come home it’s better to wash it asap. If you have chalk by chance you can try to rub the stain with it. We observed that chalk works better on jeans then other fabrics. Why don’t you try this and let us know how it went for you?
Whatever the stain is never rub the material. It will set the stain. By keeping calm and following a few simple steps you can get rid of the stains. Most of the strong commercial stain removers will also do the magic. If you choose to use them be sure you read the instructions.
