Most household chores are unpleasant. When you postpone those chores they pile up and it becomes more difficult to handle, leading to things getting out of control easily. The best scenario would be to have a full-time maid get your back. Even if you have a regular maid service helping you out with everything you might find these cleaning tricks handy and helpful. If you are on your own with household chores then we recommend you take pen to paper and take some notes.

Make your windows shiney: You don’t need commercial products to make your windows clean and shiny. If you are into eco-cleaning here is a wonderful DIY window cleaning solution. Fill a spray bottle with 1 tsp of cornstarch, 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of water. Shake well before each use. Use a newspaper to wipe the solution off the windows. Newspaper is best to clean the windows.

Clean stainless steel appliances: Everyone wants to have stainless steel appliances in their kitchen without knowing how difficult is to keep it clean, shiny and fingerprint-free. To be honest for us the most annoying is to have fingerprints all over the appliances. Here is a trick to change your life forever. Drop a few drops of baby oil or olive oil on a paper towel. Wipe the appliances with it and wipe off the excess oil with a clean cloth. No more fingerprints on the appliances!

A few drops of oil all you need is to avoid fingerprints on your stainless steel appliances.

Whiten the toilet bowl: The worst cleaning task of all but it has to be done. Sprinkle 1 cup of baking soda in the bowl and brush it after 5 or 10 mins. If the bowl requires deep cleaning use a pumice stone after brushing. Wet the stone before using as dry stone can damage the bowl.

Freshen the toilet brush: After using your toilet brush don’t put it right back in its holder. Close the toilet seat on the top of the toilet brush handle and let it dry first. Pouring a small amount of your favourite scented cleaning product at the bottom of the toilet brush holder would keep it fresh.

Clean glass shower doors: Water spots and soap scum can take your glass shine away. If you wet a scouring pad and apply it gently to the glass shower doors spots and scum will disappear. To avoid spots in the first place use glass treatment every three months.

Clean the faucets: Hard water could cause mineral deposits on fixtures and faucets. White vinegar is a great fighter against deposits. Dampen a microfiber cloth with white vinegar and place where you want it to be clean. Let it sit for 15 minutes and wipe it away.

White vinegar can make the faucets clean in 15 minutes.

Get rid of grease stains: Laundry is another annoying household chore. It’s not like you wash the clothes by hand but it’s a never-ending chore. It can even be challenging when there are stained clothes. It can be a long shot but if you happen to have white chalk you can use it to get rid of grease stains. Rub white chalk on the stain, let it sit an hour and wash it. White chalk is a great absorbent so it will absorb most of the oil. Don’t worry if you don’t have white chalk around you can follow the same steps with cornstarch or talcum powder.
