How To Clean Any Floor

Cleaning your house is something but keeping it clean is something else. And going for the second mission makes the first one less painful. The easiest way to keep your home clean is to spare 15-20 minutes on daily basis. The tough part about it is to wipe the floors everyday but trust us it will help you a lot on long term. Here are a few different ways to clean the floors.

Hardwood Floors:

Start with dusting with a microfiber cloth mop first then spray on a water based cleaner made for wood floor and mop with a dry cloth mop. Or if you are looking for more natural products to use mix 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 tbsp castile soap with 1 bucket of water. Wipe the surface with the mixture and dry thoroughly.

For scuff marks try this: Fill a spray bottle with 50/50 vinegar, water, 15 drops of essential oil. Sprinkle the scuff with baking soda and spray the mixture on it. Let it fizz for a few minutes. Scrub the marks until they are removed and dry with a paper towel.

If your hardwood floor looks like it needs polishing mix 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice and apply on a dry clean cloth. Wipe the floor with it.

Laminate Floors:

First vacuum or sweep dirt. Use a mop dampened with a mild cleaner and water solution. Then wipe the floor with a dry clean cloth. Instead of commercial product you can try white vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with 1/4 white vinegar and the rest with water. Shake it well and spray it on the floor. Rub it off with a dry cloth. The laminate could expand if you soak it.

Linoleum Floors:

You can use a multisurface cleaner to mop linoleum floor. If you have a grimy floor to deal with dissolve 1/4 cup baking soda in 2 gal warm water, add 1 tbsp dish soap and 1/4 cup white vinegar. Use the mixture to mop the floor.

To maintain shine wax every 6 months. Apply two coats. Wait for the first to dry then add the second. Then buff with a soft cloth mop.

Tilled Floors:

Mix tile cleaner and warm water to mop the floor. Use a dry cloth to absorb water that collects in grout lines. For a more eco-friendly way to clean take the juice of 3-4 lemons and add it in 1/4 cup castile soap. Mix well and pour it in a bucket of water. If you wish you can add some essential oil. Wipe your floor with the mixture.

You should deep clean every few months otherwise it will be harder to get rid of grout. You can scrub stained grout with a soft toothbrush and grout cleaning solution. If you like to use a more healthier mixture take some baking soda and add some water to make a thick paste. Apply it on the grout and let it sit until it dries. Once dried spray vinegar on it to make it moist then brush it with a toothbrush. Wipe the area with a damp cloth when the grout is perfectly clean.

Concrete Floor:

If you are going to clean indoor, decorative floor simply mop it with a water and vinegar solution. If you are planning to clean an outdoor concrete floor first remove grease stains using a stiff brush broom and hot water mixed with an alkaline degreaser then rinse with a hose.
