Spooktakular Halloween

Still a few days until the spookiest day of the year yet everyone is already celebrating Halloween. Who says you should wait until the last day of the month to celebrate? Let’s join the crowd and enjoy the spine-chilling days of the year. If you haven’t found the spirit yet here are a few ideas for you.

How about some decoration first?

Floating witch’s hat: The Halloween spirit starts from the outside the house. If you want your house to be the spookiest one then this is for you! Attach hooks to your ceiling and let them sit for 10-15 minutes. String about 2-3 feet of fishing line through the needle. Feed the needle through the point of the witch hat on the outside of the hat. Bring the fishing line through to the interior of the hat. Use a safety pin to attach a light stick. Tie a loop at the end of the fishing line on top of the hat and hang it to the hooks on the ceiling.

Floating witch hats will bring the Halloween spirit to your house.

Candy door hanger: You will need half a craft pumpkin, chalkboard, a wood burning tool or razor blade, black and white paint, paintbrushes, screw, drill, nail and hammer. Draw a smiley face on the pumpkin with pencil. Cut the mouth area with the help of the wood burner or razor blade. Paint the eyes. Use a screw to hang the pumpkin to the chalkboard. Fill the pumpkin with your favourite candies, chocolate bars and sweets. This little guy will meet your guests and make the trick or treating kids happy when you are not home to answer the door.

Candy door hanger will meet your guests and put a smile on their faces.

Cardboard tombstones: It’s a Halloween classic: tombstones in the yard. Draw a tombstone shape on the cardboard. Leave 3 inches of extra space at the bottom of the tombstone to fold under it later. Cut out the tombstone shape. Create identical tombstones as you are going to make 3D effect. Place side pieces in the gap between the two tombstone pieces. Don’t forget to place weights in the tombstones. You can use newspaper and decoupage glue to create a paper mâché over the top and give the perfect round effect. After it dries completely paint it a dark color. Glue the letters on the tombstone.

A Halloween without tombstones won’t be a Halloween.

Spiderwebs: It’s super easy to make! All you need is a square parchment paper and scissors. Fold the square into a triangle. Fold the triangle into a smaller triangle and repeat it one more time. Bring the right edge of the triangle over the left edge, make sure the edges line up. Trim the extra paper at the end. Then cut the end with a slight inwards curve. Use a pencil to draw the lines of the spiderweb on the paper. Carefully cut out the shapes along the folded paper. Be careful as it shouldn’t go all the way through. Open up your spiderweb carefully and glue your fake spider onto it. Perfect decoration for your house.

Spiderwebs made of paper will be easiest DIY project ever.

Apothecary labels: Every good witch needs a fine set of apothecary labels. You can use these jars and bottles just for decoration or you can serve the beverage with these labels on the glass and bottles. You can find many creative labels online.

Don’t think these just for a decoration, you can serve beverage with these labels.

Spider treat bowls: These easy to make plates will make your guests smile. Cut 8 straws to make them look like spider legs. After cutting them snip the end at an angle. Glue the legs to the plastic black bowls. When it’s completely dry, flip the bowl and bend the straws to create legs. Add googly eyes to finish it up! Spooky plates are ready to use. You can serve the starters with these.

Spider bowls will get all the attention.

Spooky chocolate pudding: Actually the recipe is no different from the regular chocolate pudding it’s just the imagination makes It different. After making the pudding put them in tiny glasses. You can use any chocolate biscuits crumbs to make it look like soil. Place a cookie for each glass. Don’t forget to write RIP on each cookie.
