2020 is just around the corner. It might be cliche but it is the perfect time for forming new habits and starting new routines. And these routines should definitely include regular car cleaning. Even if you take your car to the car wash some parts are always neglected. Here are a few car cleaning tricks for everyone who takes their car to the car wash or wash it themselves.
Outside: Let’s start with the dirtiest part of the car.
Headlights: Instead of just using water to clean the headlights mix baking soda and toothpaste in a bowl and apply it to the headlights. Rub it on and wash it away.
Windshield wipers: If you are annoyed by smear marks, clean the wipers with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol.
Bugs: All you need is cooking oil spray to remove the bugs on your car. Apply it to your car and use a cloth to rub the dead bugs away. If the cooking spray is not strong enough you can try to rub the area with a dryer sheet.
Inside: Inside your car is a bit trickier to deep clean. There are many parts you have to clean regularly to keep your car clean.
Air conditioning vents: Use an old make up brush or a paint brush. Vacuum up the the dust as you brush the dust form the air conditioner vents so the dust doesn’t fall in the car.
Dashboard: This one is a great hack. It’s our favourite one, we bet it’s going to be yours too. No matter how good of a condition you keep you car in, somethings aren’t avoidable, such as an aged dashboard. But you can turn back time and make the dashboard brand new again. Put some olive oil on a paper towel and wipe down the dashboard and the wheel. Always try on a small area first to the if the leather or the plastic reacts. You can also try vaselline to revive the dashboard. If you use vaseline wipe away the excess with a cloth.
Air filter: Have your car’s air filter checked regularly. If your car has a smell and not going away it may be time to have it checked.
Trash: This could be another reason why you car smells. Check under the seats to see if any trash has been forgotten. For a clean and fresh car never leave any trash in your car.
The dirt: Sometimes no matter how many times you take your car to the car wash some dirt sticks. If it’s the case grab an old toothbrush and castile soap. Scrub the area gently with water and castile soap. Use a clean dampened cloth to finish it up. For a better car cleaning vacuum up the dirt while brushing knobs and buttons. Perfect deep car cleaning!
